SDToolbox PLUS – Release Notes & Changelog

Version 3.2.1 — 2026-06-23 (requires firmware v1.11)

Card Library

  • UPDATE: Save to Library — when a filesystem scan does not match the CID-based library record, a Create New Record option is now offered alongside the standard update confirmation; when creating a new record for a CID already in use, the dialog defaults to content-based matching
  • UPDATE: Contents mismatch warning — clicking Save to Library while the mismatch warning is active now offers three options: update the existing CID record with the current scan data, create a new separate record for this CID and contents combination, or open the Library Manager

FAT Tab

  • NEW: Fast Contents Scan — the Contents scan now uses a fast cluster-level algorithm on FAT32 cards by default, completing in a fraction of the time compared to the previous method; right-click the Refresh button in the Contents section title bar to switch between Fast Scan (FAT32 only) and Standard Scan; the selection is saved across sessions; non-FAT32 cards always use the standard scan regardless of the setting
  • FIX: Contents (file count and total file size) were not refreshed after a successful Format — the fields continued to show values from the previous scan; a contents scan now starts automatically after every successful format
  • FIX: exFAT cards formatted by Windows or other tools that use transaction-safe exFAT were not recognised — the FAT tab showed “no file system” even though the card was fully readable on a PC; all exFAT cards are now supported regardless of which tool formatted them

General

  • NEW: Faster SD card data transfers — cards that support the 4-bit data bus now use it automatically; most noticeable on Format, which completes roughly 3× faster on supported cards

Version 3.2.0 – 2026-06-11

Card Library

  • NEW: Card Library — a persistent local database that stores SD card identities alongside a user-defined name, notes, and filesystem data; survives reinstalls
  • NEW: Automatic card identification — the matching record name appears in the INFO tab above the CID field as soon as a known card is inserted; the alias persists after the card is removed and clears only when a different CID is read
  • NEW: Multiple records per CID — the same CID hardware value is sometimes reused across card revisions (e.g., annual map updates with an identical CID); all matching records are stored; an ⚠ [n] badge is shown when several records match the inserted card; click the badge to select the active record; badge clears automatically when a filesystem scan confirms the exact match
  • NEW: Add to Library (+ button in INFO tab) — saves the current card with a required name, optional notes, and a “Match by CID” toggle; works with and without a physical card inserted — paste any 32-character CID manually to add a record without inserting a card
  • NEW: Save to Library (FAT tab, after a filesystem scan) — saves or updates the matched record with filesystem data: type, volume label, total / used / free space, file size, and file and folder counts; a confirmation is shown when updating an existing record
  • NEW: Library Manager — opened from Tools → Card Library; a non-modal, resizable table showing all library records with live search, sortable columns (including numerically correct sorting on size and count columns), and inline cell editing; window can be maximised
  • NEW: Drag CID from Library Manager — drag any row in the Library Manager table to drop its CID as text onto the CID field in the INFO tab, the Expected CID field in Mass Production Mode, or any other text target
  • NEW: CID right-click menu in Library Manager — right-click any row: Copy CID to clipboard, Send to Info Tab → CID, or Send to Mass Prod → Expected CID
  • NEW: Import CSV — import card records from a compatible CSV file (requires CID, Info, Total size [Bytes], Total files columns); records with a missing or N/A name are skipped; duplicate CID + name pairs are skipped; multiple records for the same CID with different names are all imported
  • NEW: CID normalisation — CID values pasted manually or imported from CSV are silently corrected to a valid CRC byte before any database lookup or write; the CID field displays exactly what was entered; the CID Decoder Fix CRC button continues to work as a deliberate visual confirmation tool
  • NEW: Live library lookup on manual CID entry — pasting or typing a complete 32-character CID into the CID field triggers an immediate library lookup; the card alias and Add to Library button update without needing to insert a physical card; the same lookup fires after Fix CRC is applied in the CID Decoder
  • NEW: Contents mismatch warning — if the CID identifies one library record but a filesystem scan matches a different record (and that record uses CID-based matching), the Contents alias in the FAT tab turns red and shows a ⚠ prefix; this indicates the card contents do not correspond to the CID identity; cards with content-only matching set are not affected

Version 3.1.2 — 2026-05-29 (requires firmware v1.10)

Mass Production Mode

  • NEW: Audio feedback after each card is processed — success and failure sounds are independent and can be enabled or disabled separately via the Play sound on success and Play sound on failure checkboxes in the Auto Operations section
  • UPDATE: Closing the Mass Production Mode dialog while any auto operation is still enabled now shows a warning — choose Disable & Close to turn off all active operations before closing, Close to close without changing settings, or Cancel to keep the dialog open
  • FIX: Closing the application while the Mass Production Mode dialog was open incorrectly triggered the auto operations warning; the warning now only appears when closing the dialog directly

FAT Tab

  • NEW: Items and Size values in the Contents section are draggable — click and drag outside the field to drop the value into another application; select partial text first to drag only part of it

Card Info

  • NEW: CID field accepts drag-and-drop — dropping text onto the field replaces the entire content
  • NEW: Password field accepts drag-and-drop — dropping text onto the field replaces the entire content

General

  • NEW: All decoder and tool dialogs (CID Decoder, CSD Decoder, SCR Decoder, Mass Production Mode, Report) remember their last screen position and whether they were open; restored automatically on the next device connect
  • NEW: Main window position and size are saved and restored across sessions

Version 3.1.1 — 2026-04-28 (requires firmware v1.9)

FAT Tab

  • UPDATE: Used and free space now show N/A on cards that do not have a current free space count stored — this is normal for some cards and occurs after formatting with certain tools; correct values appear automatically after running a Contents scan on the same card (requires firmware v1.9)

SD Card Register Decoders

  • FIX: SCR decoder reported incorrect SD specification version on some cards (cards supporting SD spec v8.x or v9.x showed as Unknown)
  • FIX: SCR decoder was missing one optional command flag on cards that report it

Version 3.1.0 — 2026-04-27 (requires firmware v1.8)

  • NEW: Contents section — displays file and folder counts and total file size from a recursive scan; scan runs in the background and updates progressively
  • NEW: Refresh / Stop button — starts a file count scan; icon changes to a stop symbol while scanning; click again to cancel; fields show — if the scan was cancelled or not yet run
  • NEW: Filesystem info refreshes automatically each time the FAT tab is activated
  • NEW: Filesystem info refreshes automatically after a successful Format operation
  • NEW: Format section — formats the card with a selectable filesystem type (Auto / FAT16 / FAT32 / exFAT) and allocation unit size (Auto / 4 KB – 64 KB); a confirmation dialog is always shown before formatting
  • NEW: Volume label rename — click the volume label to open a rename dialog; maximum length follows the filesystem type (11 characters for FAT12/16/32, 15 for exFAT); clear the field to remove the label
  • FIX: Card info fields occasionally appeared empty after reinserting a card while the FAT tab was open
  • All FAT tab fields are cleared automatically when the card is removed

  • FIX: SD chipset label and brand logo did not update after a successful unlock or forced erase — both now refresh automatically

General

  • FIX: Card register fields (CID, CSD, SCR, RCA) occasionally appeared empty after reinserting a card
  • FIX: Software update check bugfix

Version 3.0.0 — 2026-03-06
